§ 48-307. Installation.

  • (a)

    Backflow prevention assemblies required by this division shall be installed by a certified tester at a location and in a manner approved by the water purveyor, and shall be installed at the expense of the water consumer.

    (b)

    Backflow prevention assemblies installed on the service line to the consumer's water system shall be located on the consumer's side of the water meter, immediately inside the building where the service line enters, and prior to any other connection.

    (c)

    Backflow prevention assemblies shall be located so as to be readily accessible for maintenance and testing, and protected from freezing. No reduced pressure principle backflow prevention assembly shall be located where it will be submerged or subject to flooding by any fluid.
