§ 26-20. Term; removal.

  • The members of the police department shall serve at the pleasure of the police chief and may, for cause, be removed by him at any time; provided, however, that any person so removed may request a hearing before the police board who shall rule on the propriety of such removal. Any officer aggrieved by the rule of the police board shall have the right within ten days to request in writing a hearing before the board of aldermen.
