§ 14-7. Vacancies in office.
(a)
If a vacancy occurs in any elective office, the mayor or the person exercising the duties of the mayor shall cause a special meeting of the board of aldermen to convene where a successor to the vacant office shall be selected. The successor shall serve until the next regular municipal election.
(b)
No person shall be appointed to fill a vacancy in any elective office who does not possess all the qualifications required of such person to be elected to such office.
(c)
Any person appointed to fill a vacancy in any city office shall take all oaths and give all bonds that would have been required of him had he been elected to such office.
