§ 12-17. Court costs.

  • In addition to any fine that may be imposed by the municipal judge there shall be assessed as costs in all cases the following:

    (1)

    Any person found guilty of a moving violation in the city shall have to pay court costs of $22.50 ($7.50 for the state and $15.00 for the city, which includes $3.00 for officer training as described in subsections (7) and (8) of this section).

    (2)

    Costs for the issuance of an arrest warrant in the amount of $50.00 per warrant issued.

    (3)

    Other costs, such as for the issuance of a commitment or a summons, as provided before the associate circuit judge in criminal prosecutions.

    (4)

    Actual costs assessed against the city by the county sheriff for apprehension or confinement in the county jail.

    (5)

    Mileage, in the same amount as provided to the sheriff in criminal violations, for each mile and fraction thereof the officer must travel (both directions) in order to serve any warrant or commitment or order of this court.

    (6)

    Persons found guilty of charges containing more than one count may be required to pay an additional $10.50 cost for each count in excess of one count.

    (7)

    The sum of $2.00 for the training of peace officers. This fee shall be transmitted monthly to the treasurer of the city.

    (8)

    The sum of $1.00, which shall be deposited with the treasurer of the state in the peace officer standards and training commission fund, to be used statewide for training of peace officers.
